What is MAM? (Mobile Application Management)

MAM technologies – Management of Mobile Applications – apply management and policy controls to individual applications instead of to the entire device. MAM solutions usually offer a custom application store that allows you to control and deliver applications developed internally as well as third-party applications. IT administrators can add security, encryption and control to mobile applications by using the AppConfig Community standards or the Software Development Kit or App Wrapping solutions from the MAM provider.

What is EMM? (Enterprise Mobility Management)?

EMM – Enterprise Mobility Management – is a device and platform independent solution that centralises the management, configuration and security of all devices in the organization, both those used in the BYOD model and the company model. EMM goes beyond traditional device management and includes management and configuration of the application and company content. The comprehensive EMM solution includes MDM, MAM, MCM (Mobile Content Management), identity management for access control and productivity applications to facilitate access to corporate e-mail, calendar, contacts, content repositories and intranet sites. This separation allows the IT team to manage and secure only business data on the device owned by the employee. Post profiles with which applications work?

The Active Sync or IMAP / POP mail profiles that are used in the Samsung Knox activation will require the Samsung Mail application. If we want to set up a mail profile on Android Enterprise Profile Owner or Android Enterprise Device Owner activation, we can do it via application configuration.

What is supervisor – iOS?

Apple’s supervised iOS mode provides administrators with more options when managing Apple devices, which is useful for large-scale company-owned devices. For example, you can restrict the AirDrop function, prevent users from changing the device name, or apply application rules. To add a device in supervised mode, Apple Business Manager profiles must be configured or used Apple Configurator. In iOS 11 support for Apple Business Manager devices that are not supervised was deprecated. In iOS 11 and later, Apple Business Manager configured devices should always be supervised. And in a future release, the OS will ignore the Apple Business Manager is_supervised flag completely.

After the device is activated, applications from the device are automatically added to the system. The user also has the option adding an application.
